Professional driving lessons in Rossett and surrounding areas
Learning to drive can feel daunting at first. My aim is that by the end of your first lesson you’ll feel proud of what you’ve achieved and excited for the next one!
How I Work
My lessons are calm, supportive and built around you. I’m patient in the way I teach, and I’ll help you understand what you’re doing so you can make steady progress and enjoy learning.
Where learners practise between lessons, I can also offer guidance to help ensure that practice supports learning rather than creating confusion.
Who I’m a good fit for
You’ll feel comfortable learning with me if you:
Like lessons that feel supportive but not pushing before you feel ready
Are learning to drive for the first time
Want a calm, patient instructor
Prefer things to be explained clearly
Want to build confidence step by step
About Julie

Hi, I’m Julie,
A fully qualified driving instructor with many years of experience based in Rossett.
I know starting driving lessons can feel like a big step, so I aim to create a calm, supportive environment where you can safely build confidence behind the wheel.
Many of my students start with little or no driving experience, so patience and clear explanations are at the heart of how I teach. Put simply – we take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Supporting learning at home
Some learners practise between lessons, while others learn entirely through their lessons — both approaches are completely fine.
For those who do want support with private practice, I’ve created Learn 2 Drive at Home, a simple resource designed to help supervising drivers support learners with the driving basics, safely and effectively.

Books by Julie Hazell
Learn to Drive at Home – The Ultimate Guide for Supervising Drivers
Taken from Julie’s own experience of teaching her daughter to drive, “Learn to Drive at Home” is the ultimate resource for supervising drivers. This book offers a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the challenges of supervising a learner driver.
Confidence & mindset support
For some learners, confidence can make a big difference when it comes to driving — especially as the driving test approaches.
Alongside my driving instruction, I can also offer optional mindset and confidence support using hypnotherapy techniques for those who feel it may help them stay calm and focused at any point during their learning to drive journey.
This support is also available to drivers who are not currently learning with me..
If you’d like to check availability or ask a question, the best place to start is by getting in touch.
A final word from one of my lovely students…
“Julie is the best driving instructor you could ever have! She took me under her wing after a few not so great lessons with another.
She’s calm, patient and I can’t thank her enough for all the time and effort she put into helping me not only pass (first time that is), but to feel safe on the road. I could not have done it without her and I highly recommend choosing her as your instructor!!! “
